Primary responsibility is the management of the team that analyzes human capital management (HCM) business processes and defines, documents, develops and configures HCM business applications within BRCM. This person’s system analyst team will be responsible for interfacing with functional groups within BRCM to define system and process requirements that enable the business to operate in a reliable, repeatable, scalable and operational manner. This manager will implement and manage the BRCM processes for the generation and maintenance of business process/operations and system requirements definition/documentation. This team’s primary function is to be “intimate” with the business, and be able to translate business needs into IT solutions with clearly defined business processes and application support.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manages the definition, documentation and implementation of full stream business processes and associated systems support for HCM process streams such as: Hire to Fire, Goal Setting, Performance Appraisal and Budget Recommendations, Benefits Administration, Application Tracking, Learning Management, Payroll, Global deployments, Onboarding, etc. • Manages the definition, design, configuration, implementation and on-going logical support of applications such as PeopleSoft, Success Factors, ADP Payforce, ADP Virtual Edge, Saba, etc.. • Manages the team that provides day-to-day business process definition and logical application support for these applications and processes. • Specification and design review processes within the BRCM SDLC framework to ensure delivery of the best and appropriate solution. • Partnership with business process owners to understand and define and problems, issues and opportunities to improve the effectiveness and capabilities of the organizations. • Development of end to end business process documentation for all process streams. Includes processes, procedures and practices of the organizations and the solutions, and provide training material on systems deployed. • Prioritization of needs with business owner partners. Sets priorities, manages schedules, and assures quality/timely releases of required business functionality through system deployments and business process changes. • Must be able to define an application roadmap for the company, and be able to clearly articulate this vision to the team, executive management, and to the company. • Project manages deployment and integration of new system solutions, including upgrade and service pack deployments. • Ensure developed solutions solve the problem in the most effective and efficient manner. • Ongoing support for current operations and systems. • Analysis of new business and systems concepts, applications and other offerings for their applicability to BRCM needs and requirements. • Participates in software evaluation/selection projects when new systems capabilities are required. Working with the development group, the systems engineering group determines if the application meets business needs. • Analysis and transition activities required to integrate business operations of new acquisitions. • Must be able to take a hands on approach with the team, must be able to contribute to the actual requirements creation and business process definition activities, as this is a small and focused team. • Hire, manage, train, develop and deploy employees.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Performs under the general direction of the Sr Manager of Business Applications and works side-by-side with the Sr. Manager of Business Applications Development. These three managers work together as a team to deliver an application and process infrastructure that supports BRCM.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Interview, select, train, evaluate, and counsel all staff in the Business Applications System Engineering team. Administrative supervision is exercised over the staff of the Business Applications System Engineering team and vendors. Job Requirements : Requires a thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Systems Engineering and Business Process Engineering concepts, practices and processes. Position requires a college degree, preferably a B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Five years direct experience in management with responsibility for Business Applications development, support and deployment. MBA preferred. Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to interface with users and staff. Must be able to work in stressful situations.
This person must have experience in complete life cycle management of an application architecture which includes but is not limited to: a. Requirements gathering and documentation methodologies, include requirements change control procedures b. Application design, including technology/application selection c. Development methodologies and project tracking d. Source control and defect tracking e. Application feature enhancement and bug tracking processes, procedures and tools. f. Release control g.
