A growing company of over 5300 employees is looking for a Payroll Specialist to oversee the payroll for US and Canadian operations. The company is seeking a high-energy, hands-on individual desiring a challenging position with diverse responsibilities. This position offers significant opportunities to willing individuals to streamline and automate transaction processing.

The Payroll Specialist position is a hands on position responsible for the overall coordination and support of payroll for approximately 5300 employees in the US and Canada, in addition to a growing number of US expatriates. The individual will execute tasks such as:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried, hourly and expatriate employees
• Process payroll associated with stock option exercises and other stock-related activity
• Process accounting entries associated with payroll activity
• Update and audit pay information in ADP payroll system
• Validate all pay related transactions such as benefits changes, pay changes, time off, new hires and terminations
• Answering questions and addressing any issues from company employees
• Interface with HR staff and management regarding payroll questions and employee requirements
• Participate in audits of payroll-related activity, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Complete reports and other requirements associated with year-end or other reporting needs
Job Requirements : The ideal candidate will be a hard-working energetic individual with 2-3 years of payroll and accounting/audit experience. Candidate should have a bachelors degree, preferably with a finance/accounting emphasis. CPP certification and ADP experience is a plus.

The candidate should be a high-energy individual who is able to set priorities and work to tight deadlines and has excellent attention to detail.

The individual should also have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to handle high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.

The individual should possess sound technical knowledge and strong operational and financial control background. Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley Act is an added benefit.

Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word). Experience with Peoplesoft or other ERP systems a plus.
