Provide system level support to PC OEM customers for Broadcom's NetXtreme II (NX2) Server Ethernet Network Interface Controllers in the US. This role includes interfacing with the customers on a daily basis about 1Gb and 10G NIC software/system issues, managing/tracking software releases for those customers, tracking customer problem reports, reproducing customer problems, trouble-shooting those problems, running joint bug review meetings with the customers, and driving the resolution of customer reported software problems across the business unit, working jointly with PQA, SWE, LSI and AE’s.
Further, this position will require on-site support for our Development Partners in order to productize new 10G Ethernet chips, including the bring-up and deployment of exiting new features like fiber channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and others for our Converged Network Interface Controllers (C-NIC) Job Requirements : B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering along with10+ years of related experience. M.Sc. in Computer Science , Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is strongly desired/recommended.
· Must have strong system software and/or architecture experience (e.g Bios, firmware, or device drivers)
· Detailed knowledge of PC architecture, HW, and operating systems.
· Experience with ASIC environment is highly desirable.
· Experience with both Windows and Linux. Networking expertise.
· Programming experience in the "C/C++" language.
· Proficiency in X86 assembly, or MIPs assembly desired.
· Knowledge about networking concepts is essential.
· Experience in reading and understanding of technical specifications of current technology (TCP/IP, iSCSI, FCoE, etc…) and request for comments (RFCs).
· Experience in application and driver software development on one or more embedded operating systems is a great plus
· Windows driver and systems level software / firmware experience in Fiber Channel or other storage / clustering technologies
· Experience in developing system architecture for Fibre Channel HBA products is a plus
· Experience in developing system software and drivers and/or firmware for Fiber Channel HBA products is a plus
· Fiber Channel experience in FC-2..FC-4 concepts, including framing, sequence and exchange management, FC-4 / SCSI-FCP protocol mapping, Link Services (BLS/ELS), FC Switched Fabric concepts, etc.
· Must have mastered OS concepts of: Process, DMA engines, interrupts, Interrupt Handling, Memory Virtualization, Threads, IPC, user space and race
· Chip bring-up experience is a great advantage. Understanding of hardware issues, working with hardware engineers with bus and logic analyzers is highly desirabl
· Experience in developing or administering Ethernet networking equipment (e.g. routers, or switches)
· Experience in performing direct OEM/ODM technical support and experience in communicating technical issues/problems to customers.
· Outstanding problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
· Excellent communication skills and good teamwork.
· Must be patient and tolerant with impatient customers.
