In this position you will work in a team to develop and debug next generation wireless LAN chips and systems for very high volume mobile and embedded consumer electronics designs. The job spans pre-silicon architecture involving innovative HW/SW algorithm design , exploring various system design trade-offs, working with HW and SW teams to implement and test the design, and chip bringup and characterization. Working with DSP, silicon, and RF designers in Broadcom's market leading WLAN group, you will help realize chip designs for integration into leading edge mobile and embedded devices.
Job Requirements : * M.S./Ph.D. Degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
* Strong programming skills. Proficient in one or more of C/C++, Matlab, Tcl.
* Strong DSP skills and ability to model PHY algorithms in C/Matlab.
* RF/Wireless systems experience in one or more of 802.11x, Bluetooth, 3GPP is highly desirable.
* Deep understanding of hardware design principles, and mapping DSP/Comm. algorithms to HW.
* Familiarity with HDL (VHDL/Verilog) is desirable.
* Experience with system bringup of communication systems in a lab environment is desirable.
* Excellent engineering problem solving skills and strong mathematical analysis skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Must be self motivated and comfortable working independently.
