Broadcom is developing solutions supporting the next generation of 3G and 4G high-speed mobile technologies. As part of the CellAirity™ Mobile Platform, Broadcom offers a family of HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) baseband processors for use in cellular handsets, PC cards and other wireless-enabled consumer electronics.
In this role you will be part of a core team developing and extending next generation mobile framework. The technology you will be working on represents an important component in Broadcom’s cellular platform. You will develop and debug both existing and new code in C (knowledge of other programming languages and development platforms is a plus). You will also participate in project design and implementation discussions and contribute to product development under the direction of senior/lead engineers and manager, in this concern you are expected to complete tasks in a timely manner within the time frame established, learn new skills and adapt to new technology quickly. Some travel may be required.
Job Requirements : Typically requires a BS degree and 9 years of experience, an MS degree and 6 years of experience or a PhD and 3 years of experience.
Required
•Must have very strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills.
•Experience designing and developing real time software in C/C++ for real-time embedded platforms.
•Experience in developing multi threaded applications.
•Experiences in the use of inter-process communication using sockets, pipes.
•Experience using a bug tracking system as part of the development process.
•Experience in integrating GPS/AGPS.
•Experience in developing or integrating LCS/LBS.
•Experience in integrating TCP/IP, PPP.
Desired:
•Capability to analyze layer 2/3 GSM/UMTS or CDMA over-the-air signaling is a plus.
•Understanding of the architecture of a mobile cell site and network is a plus.
•Familiarity with the protocol stacks used for MMS and WAP is a plus.
•Experience in developing or integrating WLAN.
•Experience in developing VoIP is a plus.
