Broadcom's Broadband Carrier Access group is responsible for furthering new and existing GPON and DSL technologies related to Telco broadband voice, video and data services. Job Description: · In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for defining, implementing and continuously improving the software build, QA, and release cycle for the next generation of DSL Modems and GPON ONTs. · You will establish common work processes and tools, develop test methodologies and technologies to build and manage test environments, as well as facilitate the creation and execution of test suites. · Most successful individuals will be "hands on", with the ability to understand complex software systems, automate build and regression environments, test plan development, and coordinate test resources to execute on the plan. · Will work closely with engineers in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplined team with aggressive schedules
Key activities: · Provide vision and roadmap to improve software quality from early engineering releases through production releases · Manage a multi-site, multi-national team responsible for developing and executing functional and performance testing · Continue development of automated nightly build, automated testing and QA labs · Manage production releases including prioritization of bug fixes and coordination of testing and interim test builds · Work with project leads to identify key customer deliverables and internal test suites · Work with test and verification team to meet performance, stability, and functional goals within project schedules · Research and implement new and improved software testing methods, processes, automation, and tools · Replicate customer problems and then help troubleshoot and debug them Job Requirements : · B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent · Minimum of 12 years industry experience including 3+ years managing an engineering quality organization in either a SW only or a mixed SW/HW environment. · Experience with DSL Modems or GPON ONTs a plus · Must have experience in bringing products to market with a focus on quality, stability, and optimization · Excellent oral, written, and technical documentation skills as well as attention to detail and dedication to quality · Must have knowledge of C, C++, IP Networks and embedded systems
