In this position you will be working closely with the ASIC development team in developing software diagnostics and debugging leading edge SoC designs from RTL through into silicon. The job will also involve extensive software development on Linux and Windows CE. Direct experience working closely with the SoC development processes and technologies including an in-depth understanding of debugging and testing in RTL and FPGA environments is also very important. The ability to work closely with internal and external customers requires strong communications skills as well. Specific technology areas valuable to candidates will be familiarity with audio, ARM, security, Linux, Windows CE, OpenGL and other related areas from both a hardware and software design and functionality viewpoint. Duties include maintenance of existing products, bug fixing, product performance enhancements and implementation of customer specific features, supporting customers with new projects and providing application level support to existing projects. Job Requirements : • Typically requires a BSEE degree or related field and 12 years of experience, an MS degree or related field and 9 years of experience or a PhD and 6 years of firmware experience at the chip level. • Individual will be responsible for design, development, and unit verification of software for ARM-based SoCs. • Experience with SystemVerilog and/or SystemC is highly desirable. • Experience debugging in RTL verification environment using waveform viewers such as Debussy, NCverilog or VCS also highly desirable. • Candidate should have experience with firmware debugging tools such as JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers and oscilloscopes. • Candidate should be familiar with programming in C/C++, Perl, TCL, experience with assembly on ARM is a plus. • Experience developing with embedded Linux is strongly desired. • Candidate must be self motivated, work well independently, possess excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple parallel tasks.
